An Ideal Printing Solution

RISO™ (the Japanese word for IDEAL) has continually strived to “create fundamentally unique products”. We have done so by creating world-leading inkjet printers and digital duplicators, and for the past 25 years we have effectively brought the superior RISO brand to the African continent.

The RISO ComColor range of inkjet printers brings sustainable printing to Africa and the world. From early on, sustainable printing has formed part of RISO’s ethos, and through advanced development, and in conjunction with our Risolar solar-powered printers, eco-friendly printing for Africa is an ideal we have been recognised for again and again.

RISO digital duplicators, also known as Riso machines are the most cost-effective solution in making more than 25 copies of a specific page. Because a digital duplicator uses ink and not toner, it does not require warm up time, operates at advanced speeds and uses less electricity. We also have the Risolar solution that will allow you to still operate when the power goes down for a period of time.
At 130ppm, with an easy-to-use LCD panel and a range of features including scanning, PC printing and direct USB flash drive printing, the CV3030 delivers sophisticated yet convenient and cost-effective printing.
The A4 CV3030 has been designed to sit on top of a table, so is ideal for schools, universities or businesses where space might be an issue, but speed cannot be compromised. This Risograph enables print runs to complete in a flash: printing 500 sheets takes under 4 minutes.
This digital duplicator makes prints from a master. As a result, the more pages generated from each master the lower the cost per print, making it highly economical for medium to high volume printing.
The CV3030 duplicator offers high quality printing regardless of the type of document including: forms, envelopes, leaflets, flyers or teaching materials. To obtain even better quality results, you can easily connect your duplicator to a PC with a USB cable or even print direct from a USB key.

The RISO MF9350 is part of the latest duplicator range for RISO. The MF9350 features an adjustable five-speed function for printing between 60 and 120 pages per minute, as well as a high-speed mode that prints at a maximum speed of 150 pages per minute.
Unlike traditional duplicators, the MF9350 provides the power of two-colour printing in a single pass, making it easy and convenient to give your documents a professionally finished look. Compared to using single-colour digital duplicators for two-colour output, time taken for the ink to dry, inserting paper and changing drums is halved. One simple action gives you the high-speed colour printing you need.
The machine’s colour drum accommodates a wide variety of inks in 21 standard colours, plus special order-made colours that can give corporate logos an extra-special look. This huge selection of colours lets you add powerful impact to your documents. Front panel access makes switching the drum quick and easy to change colour too.
The RISO MF9350 lets you use a wide range of uncoated paper, giving you the perfect option for your job every time. Advertising flyers and leaflets, announcements, newsletters, tickets, business applications such as letterheads.

Riso has launched two new A3 digital duplicators, one of which it is referring to as the fastest of its kind.
The two-colour MF9350 and single-colour SF9390 are both set for commercial availability in early 2018, with pricing yet to be disclosed, and, at 190spm, Riso is referring to the SF9390 as the fastest duplicator ever, while the MF9350 runs two colour at 150spm.
Riso UK product manager Mike Murphy said the products follow on from the 2015 launch of the world’s first A2 digital duplicators, along with a lower-end SF model that was introduced around a year ago.
Murphy said: “These are evolutions of previous models but offer new enhancements. A lot of the things that were previously options, like network cards, are now included, so connectivity is much more standard.
“So we’re offering enhancements, the engines are similar to previous models but they’ve enhanced image processing, so even though the resolution is the same you can get a sharper print and better productivity in terms of speed; the whole makeready process has been sped up as well.”
The machines work by utilising a master sheet, which is created by sending a file from a connected PC to create an image by means of tiny heat spots on a thermal “plate”. The master sheet is then wrapped around a drum and the ink is forced through the holes onto passing sheets at high speed to create each image on the paper.
Compatible with Riso’s new sustainable rice bran-based ink, the machines both print 600dpi resolution but also include enhanced image processing for higher quality. Additional features include a paper memory print function for confidentiality, whereby an encoded image can be printed off on a laser printer, scanned in by Riso and then translated back to the original.
Both machines feature a new LCD screen display and are complete with memory cards for job storage.
Murphy added that customers tend to be commercial printers but that political party printers are also a target market for the two-colour machine.
